Warehouse Mezzanines for Nashville, TN Operations
The question is rarely whether you need more room. It is what the new room will do. Across Middle Tennessee, the decks we lay out end up carrying pick and pack lines, returns tables, spare parts, kitting benches and the occasional supervisor office.
Each of those jobs loads the steel differently and needs a different way up and down. We start from the work, then draw the mezzanine around it.
What Middle Tennessee Warehouses Put on a Mezzanine
A 3PL in La Vergne pushing peak volume, a Smyrna supplier staging parts for the Nissan line and a food distributor in an older building inside the I-440 loop all ask for the same thing: floor they can use tomorrow. Here is how a deck delivers it.
Room for the work that keeps growing
Pick and pack, returns and kitting tend to swell every year while the building stays the same size. A deck gives that work its own floor so pallets stop living in the aisles.
A Warehouse Consultation at no charge
We walk the floor, measure clear height under lights and ductwork, note the column grid and dock doors, and send back a layout showing where the deck fits and how people reach it.
Offices and break rooms that stay usable
Space on or under a mezzanine can be enclosed for supervisors, a returns desk or a break room. In a Nashville summer those rooms need their own HVAC, and we plan for it in the layout.
Installed between shifts
Multi-shift buildings cannot stop for a week. Work is phased zone by zone, or scheduled nights and weekends, so receiving and shipping keep moving.
Leasing your building? Most of our decks are free-standing mezzanines that never touch the roof or walls. Local notes for La Vergne, Smyrna and Mt. Juliet are on each city page.
Inside a Steel Mezzanine System
Drawn Around Your Building First
Nothing gets fabricated until we have a layout that fits your floor. We work from your clear height, the column grid you already live with, your rack rows and the load that will actually sit on the deck, then size the steel to match.
- 3D layout drawings you review before steel is cut
- Engineered load calculations for the deck you need
- Deck ratings matched to cartons, pallets or carts
- Columns placed in dead space, not in your travel lanes
Bolted Steel, Not Welded in Place
Components arrive as a numbered kit and bolt together on your floor. Less time with a crew in your building, and a structure you can add a bay to, rearrange, or take apart and set up again somewhere else.
- Prefabricated off site and shipped ready to erect
- Handrail, kick plate, gates and column guards included in the layout
- Pieces sized to come in through a standard dock door
- Bays that can be added or moved as the operation changes
Choosing the Deck Surface
Pick the panel by what crosses it. In a non-air-conditioned building that sits near 90 degrees all summer, how the deck handles heat and airflow matters too.
Unfinished ResinDek
An engineered wood panel made for mezzanine floors. It rolls well, carries storage loads without fuss, and keeps the project budget in check, which is why most storage decks we draw start here.
Bar grating
Interlocking steel bars with open space between them. Light from the fixtures above reaches the floor below, and air keeps moving through the deck instead of pooling heat under the roof in July.
Diamond plate
Tread plate laid over corrugated steel deck. This is the answer for parts areas and maintenance stores where carts, pallet jacks or small equipment travel the surface every shift.
Gray Diamond Seal ResinDek
The finished version of ResinDek, with a gray coating that resists wear from wheels and boots. A good match for pack stations, kitting benches and returns tables set up on the deck.
